The Subaru struck a 54-year old male and, without stopping, continued northbound. The Subaru crashed into an unoccupied construction excavator.
The 25-year old driver, identified as Byron Gomez Mella, was later arrested by King County Sheriff’s Deputies and booked into King County Jail on investigation of Vehicular Assault and Driving Under the Influence.
The pedestrian suffered significant head injuries and internal injuries. He has undergone multiple surgeries. In addition, the pedestrian’s left leg has been amputated.
We are seeking witnesses with any information about the collision or the events leading up to the collision, including information about the whereabouts and activities of the defendant driver on Halloween night.
